With the solar eclipse rapidly approaching this coming Monday April 8th 2024, I have spent a lot of time contemplating where to be and what to be doing.
My house in Maine lies along "the path of totality" although I am in Ireland usually these days. I had thought to travel to the US to be there for this specific moment in time as the next total Eclipse is Aug 23, 2044, but for a number of different reasons, I decided not to.
Even with not being there in person to see it, an event of this magnitude impacts the entire planet regardless. Because of that, what I have been doing is - deciding how to spend my focus in the midst of this great and powerful energy.
Side note from what I can gather the eclipse totality starts in the pacific at 16:39 UT/Universal/GMT and ends it's path in the Atlantic crossing over Mexico to Maine, Nova Scotia, PE Island and out to the Atlantic where it ends around 20:45:21 UT. That's about 5 hours total.
If you follow me on FB you might have seen my April Fools Day post. That post remarked that in olden days, April 1st was the first day of the new year. It was the extra day of the year. There were 13 months of 28 days, which total 364 days. The extra day was 'the fools day' a day off so to speak. So have chosen to see this as the start of a New Year, which always has powerful energy heading into spring, the lengthening of the days in the norther hemisphere etc.
Now, Eclipse energy is powerful planetary energy, you don't have to do anything for it to be powerful it just is. You can spend it whatever way you choose.
Personally I have taken the opportunity this past week to reset intentions, refocus my goals, and work on my visions and vision board and so on. If you are wondering what to do to mark this occasion, that might be a place to start. Intentions set during this time will be powerfully lifted, you may as well use it for your own good and humanities good if inspired.
Throughout the day send love to the planet and send love to the people in your life, send love to your goals and dreams and send love to your future self that you are becoming, send love to Sol (the sun) and the beautiful sky.
During those 5 hours, I will be in and out of meditation, sending focused intention and prayer and whatever else inspires me, and I encourage you to consider doing something also if inspired.
